Choice consistency and strength of preference

چکیده
Even when presented with the same choices multiple times, humans often make different decisions. We re-analyze data from five experiments using repeated in domain of risky and inter-temporal show that choice consistency is directly linked to cardinal differences independently-estimated utilities. Strength preference monotonically related consistency, being more inconsistent alternatives are similar terms.

Choice and Normative Preference
Due to factors such as temptation, choices may not respect normative preference (the agents own, subjective view of what constitutes his welfare). Nevertheless, the evidence on preference reversals suggests a means of recovering normative preference from choice. A de nition of normative preference in terms of choices between su¢ ciently delayed alternatives is formulated and studied. Mild cond...
متن کاملConsistency Strength of ¬
We give modest upper bounds for consistency strengths for two well-studied combinatorial principles. These bounds range at the level of subcompact cardinals, which is significantly below a κ+-supercompact cardinal. All previously known upper bounds on these principles ranged at the level of some degree of supercompactness. We show that using any of the standard modified Prikry forcings it is po...
متن کاملReciprocity and Consistency of Fuzzy Preference Relations
Preference relations are the most common representation structures of information used in decision making problems because they are useful tool in modelling decision processes, above all when we want to aggregate experts’ preferences into group preferences. Therefore, to establish rationality properties to be verified by preference relations is very important in the design of good decision maki...

متن کاملConsistency of female choice in the túngara frog: a permissive preference for complex characters
Previous phonotaxis experiments in the túngara frog, Physalaemus pustulosus, indicated a permissiveness in female preference that allows sexually selected complex call characters to be replaced with various alternative characters. Although they prefer complex to simple calls, females as a group did not discriminate between several alternative complex characters appended to the simple conspecifi...
